Belmont Rotary's International Projects have included the following:

 

--Matching grant project with the Rotary Club of Quilmes Oeste, Argentina to provide funding for 19 computers and 2 printers for "Te Ayudamos a crecer" - a foundation that helps but indigent children and also provides daily food packages.

 

--Procured donated medical equipment and supplies and shipped a 20 ft. container to the Rotary Club of Maldonado, Uruguay. Paid shortfall on freight costs with doantion from Ralph Tiegel.

 

--Funded to the Rotary Club of San Isidro, Argentina the purchase of much needed medical appliances for children suffering from cancer at the San Isidro Hospital, which serves families that live in poverty in shanty towns surrounding the city. The Foundation Maria Cecilia, working closely with the Rotary Club of San Isidro, raises money and medicines for the local community. Funding for this project generously provided by Jim McGovern, Ralph Tiegel, and Renato Piombi.

 

--Procured 200 quilts for post-surgical children from Wrap a Smile Organization, slated for shipment to Rotary Club of San Ysidro, Argentina.

 

--Continue to gather medical equipment and supplies from Rotaplast, Alliance for Smiles, and Orinda Rotary Club.

 

--Partnering with South San Francisco Rotary Club and Millbrae Rotary Club to fund and host Russian businessmen delegation's visit to the Bay Area.
